Welcome to the Network Rail Corporate Archive online

Our Corporate Archive manages and preserves a large collection of historical railway engineering drawings, as well as a modern business archive.

You can use this catalogue to search and access records held by our Corporate Archive for personal and non-commercial use.

Our historical engineering collection contains drawings that date from the very earliest days of the railway and represent the development of our railway infrastructure.

Our corporate archive contains publications that demonstrate Network Rail’s governance, operation and development of our railway infrastructure.

We are unable to accommodate researchers in person at our records centre, however we will continue to make as much of our history available to you as we can by adding items to this online catalogue for you to search and access.  Not all of our archive is available via our online catalogue and there are some records that will be subject to closure.

If you do not find what you are looking for or would like to provide feedback on our service, please contact us.

We normally reply to enquiries within 20 working days.  However, as Network Rail deals with the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic on the operational railway, you may experience delays in our response to your request during this extraordinary period. Thank you for your patience.
