2 drawings from Contract 1, 2, 3, 4, White Ball Tunnel showing sections of the tunnel. Whiteball Tunnel was named after the local village of White Ball and it 1000m long. It cuts across the border between Somerset and Devon. It was engineered by Isambard Kingdom Brunel and opened in 1844.
